Advisory: home room, announcements, attendance, hear newscast on Monday, learn about spirit days

CORE: Language Arts, Grammar, Writing, Reading: novels, lit book, Social Studies: Ancient Civilizations

Math: 6th Grade Common Core Math

Science: Fun labs, using microscopes

PE: get locker, buy PE closes at registration, change daily

Electives: Wheel: Art, Chorus, Computers, Study Skills, Band, Strings

   Band: Flute, piccolo, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, bass clarinet, contra bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, bari saxophone, trumpet, french horn, baritone, trombone, tuba, percussion (bells, drums, timpani)

   Strings: Violin, viola, cello

E period: once a week at the end of the day on Wednesdays. Ex: Chess, ceramics, Fun in French, STEM, Study Hall

What is Web?

Web is Where Everyone Belongs

This is an orientation for all incoming 6th graders to help them feel comfortable with DVMS.

8th graders help mentor 6th grade students throughout the 1st semester.

Web leaders can answer many of the questions 6th graders have.

Students are able to make friends from their web groups.

Your web leader can become a trustworthy friend can help you.





Green Field Fridays

Library: games, computers or study

You can check out a ball with your ID card to play basketball

Rainy day: check out games in MPR with ID card
