DVMS SPORTS PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

The Diablo Vista after school sports program provides students an opportunity to participate in a variety of sports. Although games are competitive by nature, the emphasis is on participation.  DVMS believes that participation in sports develops a strong sense of pride, responsibility and school spirit. Student athletes learn and develop self-esteem, commitment, sportsmanship, and respect for oneself, as well as for teammates, competitors, coaches and officials.

All students MUST complete a Student Athlete Packet prior to participating in each after school sport. The Student Athlete Packet is located in the After School Sports Locker and will be handed out by the coach at each informational meeting.

Volunteer Carpool Drivers

The SRVUSD after school sports program relies on parent drivers to transport our students to away games and meets. If you have a son or daughter on a DVMS sports team, please consider signing up to drive to an away game or meet during the season. Signing up to be a volunteer driver is a one time process. Approved drivers will not need to complete the "Volunteer Parent Driver Packet" again during the current academic year.

Our coaches will be asking parents and guardians at the beginning of each season to volunteer to drive to away games. Please consider helping out.

What does DVMS need from parent/guardian volunteer drivers?

1.      A completed *Personal Auto Use Permission Form

2.      A completed *Adult Chaperone Volunteer Form

3.      Copy of your driver license

4.      Copy of your car insurance policy

*These forms can be found in the Parent Driver Resources folder located in the After School Sports Locker

ALL 4 documents MUST be submitted togetherIncomplete packets will not be accepted. The completed packet needs be given to the student athlete’s coach.
